Brian Fernandes-Halloran grew up outside of Philadelphia. At 18 he went for a year to teach at a training college in rural Mozambique and traveled the country painting murals with students.
Since returning to the US Brian's paintings have struggled with the bizarre mix of contemporary consumerism and the humanity of its participants. Brian received a BFA from Boston University having received credits from studying at Sao Paulo University, Brazil and the Yale Norfolk program.
Currently Brian is producing two site specific interactive shows about his distant relationship with his neighbors and art patrons. Information on the show can be foundhere. The shows will ask viewers to partake in exchanges that challenge the barriers between people both i the art world and a multicultural Brooklyn neighborhood.
